We Malaysians too have our own style and mannerism. You can send in your take on these or read up on what our culture are like. From culture like removing our shoes when entering the homes to traditions and practice to observe at the different wedding ceremonies, Malaysians are very much accustomed to all that and you will be sure to find this enlightening as well as informative. Alternatively, keep yourself up to date with the political issues and events that are currently happening in Malaysia. This segment is a very informative and mind-boggling section particularly in keeping our Malaysians abroad. Our community of members are very vocal especially when the political landscape usually affects their everyday lives. Our pride in our heritage and history are also very much exuded in the portal where you can find out more about Malaysian history in the background sections. Often times talked about in our ‘warongs’ and ‘kopitiams’, Malaysian.com.my offers a similar segment known as ‘The Warong and Kopitiams’ which talks about anything about the history of Malaysia. This section also looks at common practices in Malaysia. This includes issues that look into our Malaysian’s everyday lives. Guides like how to take the LRT (Light Railway Transit) and how to bargain in a taxi are provided here. This section is very enlightening as it points out on things you thought you knew and on things you never knew. It is a good guide if you are a Malaysian because it points out on all the issues, and if you are not a Malaysian, it brings you up to speed. You can find daily annoyances like paying the toll using big notes, what to say when you buy newspapers, where is the best place to watch movies and even which cinema serves the best popcorns. Other information here include what to wear to a wedding dinner and what should you give at weddings which are considered appropriate. |
